SYFS international participation in Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders Award
Save Youth Future Society (SYFS) continues to grow on the international level, recognised for its youth work in peace. In September2018 SYFS was shortlisted among the 9 finalists out of 300 peace-building organisations applicants worldwide for the Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders Award. The Award was launched by Peace Direct, an international charity dedicated to stopping wars, in 2013 and are the only awards of their kind in the world. SYFS applied for the youth-led peace building category based on its role in youth empowerment and encouraging Palestinian youth to lead and promote peace, non-violence and dialogue in their communities. It became among the 3 finalists in that category. As a finalist, SYFS was able to represent its work, the Palestinian youth continuous will and commitment for peace and their hopes for building a peaceful and prosperous future during the Awards Ceremony which took place in Washington, DC in October 2018 and represented by our colleague Sahar Sarsour. This comes as part of SYFS efforts to have a wider and effective international engagement to ensure that Palestinian youth are represented, their voices heard and their accomplishments are recognized and celebrated at the global level.
